Phoenix-Park Cavies |
|
Self Lilacs should be a even shade of medium dove grey in colour, with pink eyes and pink/lilac pads and ears. There should be no dark colour rimming on the ears. It is important that the colour of lilacs is even with the undercolour matching. The type is the same as in all selfs, broad roman nose with good width between eyes. Large ears, set wide apart and drooping, and body deep with good shoulders. The lilac is a dilution
of black and is expressed "BB pp"" (black, pink eyed). In order for
the lilac colour to be expressed the cavy needs to be homozygous for "p".
Crested Lilacs: These cavies must conform to the standard for selfs as above, but also display a crest on their forehead. The crest must radiate from a centre point between the eyes and ears and be a deep rosette with a pin prick centre. Any foreign hairs in the crest are penalised. |
