Self Blacks: These
are one of the earliest of the self breeds, so they conform closest to
the ideal. In self blacks the cavy must be completely black including pads,
eyes and ears. The presence of foreign hairs are penalised. The ears
should be large and drooping and set wide apart with the eyes large and
bold.
The coat colour must be
consistant, not fading towards the skin.

Crested Blacks:
These cavies must conform to the standard as for the self blacks but also
must show a single crest on their forhead. The crest must radiate
from a centre point between the eyes and ears and be a deep rosette with
a pin prick centre. Any foreign hairs in the crest are penalised. |
