I am honored that you chose to visit my homepage. A little about myself -- My name is Rachel Peeples, and I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in May 2000 at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine in Athens, Georgia, USA. I am now working with Banfield the Pet Hospital in historic Savannah, Georgia. I enjoy all animals but have a special interest in dogs. I now have only one Lab a chocolate female born in 1996 since my black Lab passed away in October 2000, and two Akitas. My first Akita was born in 1997 and is a fawn male with a black mask and white markings. My second Akita came as a gift from a wonderful breeder after the loss of my beloved Princess and is a lovely silverr-fawn female born Halloween 2000 and she also has a black mask and white markings I became a cat owner when I acquired a wonderful female cat during my senior year of veterinary school and just recently added a second kitty in the summer of 2002. Even though I live far away now, I still help my mother with her Labrador Retrievers which she raises. Thus, I consider her Labradors along with my brother's two cats as part of my extended pet family.
Animal behavior, and canine behavior in particular, fascinates me, and, thus, I was excited to help form two new clubs in 1998 at UGA's CVM -- the Canine Club and the Behavior Club. I hope to continue this interest in my veterinary practice. In addition, I am very involved in dog obedience training and have recently become involved with agility. Outside of veterinary medicine and dogs, my interests include church, crosstitching, reading, horseback riding, music, and movies.
