Occasionally, Chevreherd has special individuals who are in search of a "forever home". Such was the case with Shepherd's Crook, who is pictured in the upper right corner. Please check with us from time to time. As these Aussies become available they will be made known here.
Shepherd's Crook is one example of a successful placement which came about due to life's changing needs. Each dog who may become available has unique gifts to share with someone special.
Some of these individuals may be a couch potato, some enjoy play, some enjoy working. The experiences of the dogs can vary from being house dogs to being started working dogs on livestock. The ages of available dogs may vary, in case you don't like to deal with the "puppy" stage. A big advantage of acquiring an older dog is that the personality, intelligence, and activity level has matured from puppy hood and possibly adolescence, so that you know what you are getting in the adult dog.
Below are the Aussies available at Chevreherd for your consideration:
Chevreherd's Quiet Riot is a 22" black tri female born 10/00 who has produced a nice litter by Rocky (Chevreherd Wood Cain Rocker). She is a good mother, has good conformation/full dentition and scissors bite. Riot has strong herding instincts and is currently in training on sheep. Riot is a natural gathering heeler and prefers to work cattle. She is loyal and protective and does not understand playing with small children.
Bella is fun, fun, fun in a small package. She seems to be maturing to about 18", is smart--razor sharp and agile as a cat.. She is a puppy-back for stud service (her dad is Rocky) and she is available to be somebody's sweetest little spitfire!
Stub is an outstanding working dog prospect, born 12/1/04 out of "Pebbles" (Lakota Capay Final Pebble) and sired by "Barkley" (Chevreherd Bob Barker). He reminds me a lot of his great-grandsire, Sprog's Harlequin Bear "Muttley". He has an easy-going temperament and is starting to show interest in herding.
Chevreherd Nimble Lee ""Lee" is a son of Nibbley and Barkley born November 2003. His greatest wish is to please you. He is a big sweetheart. Lee would be an excellent obedience prospect, and herding prospect for the positive reinforcement trainer. Lee is about 22" tall and over 50 pounds. He has been started on stock training. |
