Activities
Members teach their dogs basic obedience skills to help them become better canine citizens. Their dogs learn to obey commands such as Heel, Sit, Stay, Down, and Come. These commands are combined and built on as the 4-H member and dog advance to higher levels.
In showmanship, it is the member who is judged and not the dog. Points are earned for grooming, basic dog knowledge, and the relationship between the 4-Her and their dog.
The Shelby County Fair 4-H Dog Show is where the member and dog are put to the test. This is the competition our club works toward all year.
The Paw Prints 4-H Club also contributes time to other activities such as 4-H Dog Show Fun Matches, Fundraisers, and Community Service.
