News
break (1998): If you haven't heard, the new
"super park" in Woodridge comes with a SATISFACTION
GUARANTEED gift wrapped seal of approval from
almost everyone who has been there. Can it really be true that it is
PERFECTION? Go and check it out for yourself!
It is located where the old bowl is on Kingston
Road, opposite Reserve Road. There are shops
nearby to get snacks from, and the nearest public transport is the train
(Woodridge Station). It is a fair hike from the station but not impossible
by any means. (Go through the park)
The
surface is bitumen with all the obstacles
made with very fine grain concrete, giving it a very nice rolling surface.
Metal coping covers every reasonably grindable edge without going overboard.
Everything is easy enough to see in the pics so I will not describe all
the wonders of Woodridge to you.
The
photos here were taken of the park before
it was completed, but it is fully surfaced and has been very crowded with
skaters, bladers, bmx riders and local bombers since the first week of
June. It is a good idea to go with a few friends for safety reasons, as
a few boards and bikes have been taken by force from people there. Take
a broom too!

Now:
Since the opening, the various comps, demos and other events, this place
is still very good to go to. The only reason people don't go there much
is the opening of all the other parks in the area, eg. Kuraby
and Crestmead, which are also A1
places to skate.
