CHAD PARMAN, a DiveQuest divemaster and former college football player,
was tall enough that Alan McDowell had to stand on the dressing bench to
get the dress gasket over the breastplate bolts (above left).
Chad was obviously ready (above right) and eager to dive.
That's him in the underwater pictures (below) taken from the public viewing area.
AQUARIST ANGELA PARKER (above left) was the last diver to try the Viking dress.
"The boss," Barry Olson, dived the classic canvas dress on Thursday evening.
He is considering the practical aspects of possibly begenning a heavy gear program
at The Living Sea similar to their very popular DiveQuest scuba program.
The two days of MkV diving gave him and his divers and staff a much better idea
of the logistics and experience of heavy gear diving. This was the first
time that any heavy gear had been dived in the aquarium, and all involved
had a great time and enjoyed the experience. And Barry has a lot of solid
information and experience upon which to base his ideas. Hopefully this will
become a more common event in the future at Disney World.
JIM BOYD got the final dive of the Disney session and summed up the experience
with the divers' OK sign (above right) as he emerged from the tank.
