North Carolina's Outer Banks
On this page I have pictures taken while I was on vacationing in North Carolina'a Outer Banks. The surf was pretty decent as Dennis was heading right for us,but we left just before he arrived. It was a great place to ride and one of the remaining few places on the Banks that they still let you ride. All Personal Watercraftare banned(as of March 99)from operating within the limits of Cape Hatteras National Seashore.CHNS contains 30,00 acres of land and 70 miles of some of the finest beaches on the east coast. That's right 70 miles of both Seashore and Soundside water that we are not allowed to use.If you have a boat that's fine, just no watercraft. While I can see why they need some kind of restrictions on us,I don't believe a complete ban on pwc is fair at all.We all need to stand up and represent our sport as best we can,get involved even in area's you might not ever ride in.In the long run it will effect each and every one of us.I don't know about you but I love to ride and I'd hate to have a $7,000 pool float!!!
