A varial flip is essentially half of a 360 flip. It involves one half rotation of the fingerboard, and one complete flip. This causes some difficulty because it requires twice the board control. 1) Place your fingers the same way you would for a 360 flip. 2) Find a small gap, maybe knee height, and go slowly. Pop the tail and pull it towards you at about half the speed of a 360 flip. It is different for everyone, put you will find the proper speed. 3) Allow the board to flip, and catch it when it is done. 4) Land softly. 5) Practice, practice, practice. |
