Our area was the same as in previous years, a little woodland but mostly housing estate.I was looking for birds in the area bounded by 6th Avenue and 15th Avenue and Marquis Road to 22nd Street, which is the estate that we live in in Prince Albert ; I also phoned four people who live in the area and have feeders and birding interest, and asked them what birds they could see. It was a clear windy day with temperatures between -28C and -35C. I spent just less than two hours in discontinuous periods between 9.30am and 5pm.. We joke in our family that the birds know when it is bird count day and hide for on Christmas Day itself about two hundred Bohemian waxwings visited our garden. In fact, the weather was very severe and for the first time on a Christmas bird count, I didn't see any patrolling cats. Prince Albert Nature plans to publish the full list from Prince Albert and when they do we will put in a link here.
