Effects of acid rain on plants

What are some effects of acid rain on plants?

Acid rain can greatly affect forests. First, when sulphuric acid rains down, nutrients that are in the soils can be washed away. Next, when the conditions are very acidic, aluminum is released into the soil. When the concentration of aluminum is high enough, it is very toxic and can damage the roots of trees. When the aluminum is absorbed by the roots of trees, they are starved to death because they are deprived of vital nutrients such as calcium and magnesium.

The tree on the right is normal, while the tree on the left is less dense. This is an effect of acid rain.
