April 5th (Palm Sunday) 12:00 - BROS will host a display and potting demonstration at Greenbrier Nursery in Roanoke, not far from our normal meeting place (5881 Starkey Rd. From the garden club, go to 419 and turn left. Go .9 mile, turn right on Starkey Rd. Then go 1.8 miles, the nursery is on the right.)
This is one of the educational programs we are doing this year. We will gather for a brown bag lunch at 12 noon. BROS will supply canned drinks. We will work in a quick business meeting. By 12:30, all the plants for display should be there. This will be a large table top display but should be easy to do, with some draping and labels. The display will be from 1-4pm. We will also have two repotting demonstrations at 1:30 and 2:30. Hopefully there will be lots of people asking questions about orchids and hopefully, we will have all the answers. We will want to encourage everyone to join us at our regular meetings. This should be a fun program for us. Everyone will need to bring some plants for the mini show. They will be judged as usual. This is a fantastic time of year for our beauties. The tables are 5 feet by 12 feet, so we can stretch out and up as much as we want. We will have two tables - One for the mini show and one for the repotting demonstrations. Also, please bring some prime candidates for repotting and all the tools and supplies you will need to repot them. We will not be repotting non-members plants for liability reasons. |
