The Language of Friendship

In friendship, there's a language that we perfectly understand only with the heart.

Personally, I feel very lucky to have found friends like YOU. I may not have physical wealth, fixed assets and marketable securities, I also worry about my current liabilities...L-O-L! But I'm quite happy to have an investment which can never be stolen. And I'm so happy to say that I'm rich in FRIENDS.

"A friend is a gift you give yourself." -Robert Louis Stevenson

Friends, if you've been taking your life too seriously, it's high time for you to give yourself a break! Just don't work too much... (guess you're right- sometimes I need to listen to myself :)

Always remember: "LIFE is a MATTER of CHOICE." Life is too short to be sad. Keep on smilin. Remember, IT'S ALL IN THE ATTITUDE. As in the famous saying that goes: "we only pass this way but once, any good thing that we can do, let us do it now for we shall never pass this way again.

With my colleagues @ the Base CampSiobi as popularly called by her friends is a very talented person. A CPA and a businesswoman. I met her in Manila last January 1996. She's very smart, very creative and a compassionate writer.

Siobi, I want you to know that your FRIENDSHIP is one of the BEST things that ever happened to me. Wish I could always be there for you.

Cecile is my most amiable, huggable friend and classmate and closest friend in my MBA class. Cecile, you simply add up to my happiness...Stay just the way you are! Thanks for everything!

Linda aka Pluto. She calls me Mercury (the name which was given to me back in high school-from my initials: Hg. They say I live up to my name. Some describe me as mercurial... so fast... so quick...just don't ever gimme that look, k? L-O-L!). Linda thought Mercury should have a planet friend... and why on earth she thought of Pluto, the farthest planet from the sun. But I tell you, she has a very special way of treatin' people. It's like 'tho she's far from the sun, there's somethin' in her that makes everyone around her energetic. I dunno what that thing is. But somethin' special from her - radiates from within.

Btw, we met each other November, 1995 in Manila. She's my bestfriend. Presently, she's workin' as an internal auditor of Capitol Bank, Manila.

Linda, I want to say thank you very much for being there for me. There have been times when you didn't have any time, and yet, you took the time. There have been times when you had enough cares of your own, and yet you cared. There have been times when you had given all you had to give, and yet, you kept on giving. Godspeed!

Ningning. She's my coolest bestfriend since College. She's a flight attendant. When you speak of fashion and style, she has it all! She's sophisticated, pretty, smart, brave and most of all, she knows how to have some FUN.

Teng, I wish you luck in everything that you do...Keep reachin' for your dreams!

About My Cyberfriends

Should I tell you how great they are in their respective fields of specialization? Or should I just simply write on the things that draw us closer to each other. Or wouldn't it be better if I start scribblin' on the things which I've wanted to tell them... Yeah, it's really hard to befriend somebody who you haven't met personally, right? It's even hard to trust somebody you can talk to and see in person, how much less trust and gain the trust of these faceless friends?

Anyways, I have 'em. So before it's too late lemme say: "thanks a lot to all of you guys!"

LJ a.k.a Klokidd (Cali), thanks a lot for makin' this place a kewler place to live. It's really true that we sometimes find angels in unexpected places, can you still remember that? Your old-fashioned way (hmnnn)... 'tho still warm and true makes you different from the others. Hey, don't forget that New York Cherry Cheesecake you promised me.j/k :-D

To Kuya Jhun (NY), you've inspired me to do a lot of great things! You're the kind of person whose natural warmth puts others at ease, whose genuine caring makes others feel special... I wish you luck and the BEST in everything that you do...

Doc Mike, (from the city of smiles) :), you're such a nice person. Wish to know you better "Mr. Trivia" **smile**... I'm lookin' forward to see ya'... **aha**

How could I ever forget Noel aka EJ (US). He's one of the nicest friends that I've got. I may not have a good chance to tell you how thankful I am for the great friendship that we share...I really appreciate all the good things you've done for me. Although we can't be together, still no distance is too far... my warmest thoughts will always be with you Noel.

Ramil (Cali), thanks a lot for makin' my world a little warmer... a little brighter... a little friendlier! I hope you know how much I value our friendship. Keep in touch! Always stay kewl!

Mario, just wanna let you know that it's really great knowin' you. Wish to know you better... Always take care. Hope to c' ya soon... :)

As long as there are people who truly care, who reach out and give, each day still holds a wealth of special moments. As long as there are friends like YOU, my LIFE is filled with the greatest joy. If I've learned to appreciate life a little more, it's because you've all shown me how to enjoy discoverin' the mysteries of life, and take each day as it comes with a smile...

Don't judge those who try and fail. Judge only those who fail to try. [H.Jackson Brown]

"How little it costs if you give it a thought, To make happy some heart each day Just one kind word or a tender smile, As we go on our daily way. Per chance a look will suffice to clear The cloud from a neighbour's face, And the press of a hand in sympathy, A sorrowful tear efface. It costs so little I wonder why, We give it so little thought, A smile, a kind word, a glance, a touch, What majc with them is brought."

"Never complain of the behaviour of anyone, unless you have the power to change in his nature what makes him so behave; and if you have the power, change him instead of complaining.

Ponder on this:

Challenges can be stepping stones or stumbling blocks. It's just a matter of how you view them.

"Happiness consists in the multiplicity of agreeable consciousness."

"Real happiness is cheap enough, yet how clearly we pay for its counterfeit."

"In friendship, as in love, we are often more happy from the things we are ignorant of than from those we are acquainted with."

I find as I grow older that I love those most whom I loved first. - Thomas Jefferson

  • Sean, thank you for givin' me the reason to smile - by just thinkin' of you, the things we talked about,
and the things we used to do.
It's just that - some things are not really meant to be. We can't just keep on pushin'. Again, thanks for everythin'.
