In Oct 1997 PUB-ADV included several messages regarding
library policies on internet use.
Here's a message from Pennsylvania's Office of Commonwealth Libraries dated 29 Dec 1997, titled The Impact of the Internet at Public Libraries.
- ALA-WO is a mailing list from the American Library Association which
deals largely with subjects of interest to library program grant writers
and political activists: `ALAWON is a free, irregular publication of the
American Library Association Washington Office. To subscribe, send the

Here's a
message about Universal Service dated 5 Jan 1998.
'On December 30, 1997, the Federal Communications Commission released its Fourth Order on Reconsideration dealing with universal service.....'
Here's a
message about the Schools and Libraries Corporation dated 27 Jan 1998. 'The Schools and Libraries Corporation announced today that
its web site,
www.slcfund.org will go operational on Friday,
January 30, 1998. With the opening of the web site, applications
will begin being accepted for the Universal Service Fund which
will provide discounts for telecommunications services, internal
connections, and Internet access for schools and libraries across
America.'
Library Services for Children
- PUBYAC: ` ... a discussion list concerned with the practical aspects
of Children and Young Adult Services in Public Libraries, focusing on programming
ideas, outreach and literacy programs for children and caregivers, censorship
and policy issues, collection development, administrative considerations,
puppetry, job openings, professional development and other pertinent services
