Alphanumeric Paging Keyboard / Encoder, Type AEN2
Full QWERTY keyboard (optional AZERTY layout can be selected from the
keyboard).
10 different bleep sounds.
Provision to store up to 40 prewritten messages. 8 with up to 32 characters and
32 with up to 8 characters. These are compiled from the keyboard.
Messages can be entered (or edited, if prewritten) before sending a call.
Pagers are programmed "over air" with their identity codes from the encoder.
Interfaces with Blick Aquarius DECT telephone system to allow paging calls to
DECT handsets.
Provision is made for the unit to accept an optional plug-in card that provides
an extension access interface with an internal telephone exchange (PABX). This
allows paging calls to be initiated from a normal DTMF (dual tone
multi-frequency) standard analogue telephone extension.
Speech facility (where licence permits). An optional card can be fitted to allow
speech calls to be sent to appropriate pagers. (This provision cannot be fitted
if sequential transmitter keying is required).
Sequential keying for up to three transmitters is available as an option where
speech is not required. This facility can be used to control repeaters (Please
refer to technical support for information).
A maximum of 8 peripheral units can be supported in addition to charging racks.
These can be either slave AEN2 terminals or Aquarius peripheral cards. An
expansion box type AEX is required to mount peripheral cards. (Each AEX can
accommodate 3 cards):
16 contact card. This provides
inputs for up to 16 remote switch contacts, each of which can associated with
a bleep sound and prewritten message of up to 24 characters.
Telephone interface card. This card allows both level access and extension
access to an internal telephone system. The following interface options can be
supported (via adapter cards).
