 | Organize, service and participate in regional or subregional meetings, seminars, conferences and workshops in science and technology (S & T ) management, policy formulation and training; |
| Design and execute development projects funded by the regular budget or funding agencies; |
| Assess state of S & T, write papers and draft speeches to be presented at meetings; |
| Plan and carry out advisory missions to member States and regional organizations; |
| Formulate terms of reference for studies, recruit consultants and supervise their assignments; |
| Draft letters, memos, statements, etc. and edit papers for publication in French or English; |
| Participate in coordination, harmonization and liaison activities within and outside ECA, with UN headquarters, other UN agencies, international and regional organizations and NGOs |
| Promote an African network of science and technology policy-makers, analysts, managers and other stakeholders |
| Lead the UNECA Science and Technology Team (since September 1999) |
