2. FORMIDABLE RESISTANT TO HEAT
Godrej Fire Resisting Filing Cabinets have unique features which offer unequalled resistant to heat from fires or hot gases.

(a) Fire Resisting Compound: The unique Godrej fire resisting compound has a cellular structure. It is solid and stable and does not deteriorate with age. Cast in situ between the outer and inner shells of the body, including the inner and outer walls of each drawer unit, it provides a highly efficient shield against heat.

In fact, the fire resisting compound can withstand temperature exceeding 1000°C and provides as much resistance to flames and hot gases as a 610 mm thick concrete wall. So, a fire devastating enough to reduce a whole building to ashes is not likely to affect the documents protected by a Godrej Fire Resisting Filing Cabinet.

(b) Tongue-and-groove construction: The sketch below show the special construction employed to prevent the passage of flames and hot gases to the interior of the drawer. The unique one piece, deep drawn profile of the drawer panel and its receptacle ensures that hot gases and flames do not reach the contents of the drawer. Additionally, the perfect fit between the two profiles eliminates the use of asbestos-a unique first among all fire resisting cabinets in the country.

(c) All-round protection for each drawer:
Each drawer of the Fire Resisting Cabinet has an independent five-sided enclosure heavily insulated with the unique Godrej fire resisting compound. This makes each drawer a seperate fully inulated compartment which will protect its contents even if one or more of the other drawers are inavertently left open.

3. INDEPENDENTLY TESTED FOR PERFORMANCE
The Godrej File Resisting Filing Cabinets have successfully withstood the 2-hour fire-impact test at the Central Building research Institute (CBRI)-Rourkee, Uttar Pradesh, the only accredited institute of its kind in India for carrying out such tests. The 2-hour fire-impact test involved heating the cabinet in a specially designed furnace to over 1000°C, dropping it from a height of 4 meters and subsequently heating it again in a inverted position to 1010°C. Even after the entire duration of the test, the paper records inside the drawer were found to be usable, demonstrating its superior fire and impact resisting capabilities.

4. EFFORTLESS MOVEMENT OF DRAWERS
The drawers of the Godrej Fire Resisting Filing Cabinet move on specially designed double extension telescopic slides each having eight duty steel bearings. These slides ensure smooth movement of the drawers even when they are fully loaded. Additionally, the double telescopic slide ensures that the entire drawer can be pulled out fully and even the rear most file can be easily reached.

5. SAFE AND INGENIOUS LOCKING
(a) Emergency Latch: Each drawer of the Godrej Fire Resisting Filing Cabinet is provided with a self-closing latch which enables users to shut the drawers almost instantaneously during emergency. This special feature, ideal in case of sudden fires, can also be used to keep the drawers shut during normal use.

(b) Standard locking arrangement: A sturdy automatic locking mechanism that is centrally controlled by one Godrej lock serves all the drawers. This Godrej lock is a high-precision 6-lever dual control lock which is fitted on the topmost drawer. This arrangement allows individual drawers to be kept open for use while the rest are locked. Stainless steel keys for this lock are provided in duplicate.
Optionally, at extra cost, provisions can be made as follows:

• For individual drawer locking, Godrej high-precision 6-lever dual control locks can be fitted on any, or all, of the drawers.

6. DRAWER ISOLATION CATCH
A simple, foolproof isolation catch provided on the right hand side of each drawer permits its independent use and locking. This unique catch makes it easy to keep one or more drawers unlocked while the others are locked.

7. PRESS BUTTON RELEASE HANDLE
A simple push button to grip handle with a built-in index panel is provided on each drawer for convenience in opening and closing.

8. ATTRACTIVE FINISH-THE PERFECT MATCH
The Godrej Fire Resisting Filing Cabinets are given a lasting oven-baked scratch-resistant stipple finish in charbrown/off-white combination which blends well with the decor of any office.

9. A CHOICE OF GODREJ FILING SYSTEMS
Godrej offers you a choice between two filing systems for your vital documents.

(a) Visafiles: In this system each file pocket is manufactured from sturdy kraft board and is interconnected with the outer using a coupling channel to form a series of 'V's or bellows.
The file pockets are tough and have a cloth base for additional strength. Thus, they can withstand the weight of even the bulkiest of files.
The Visafiles system is recommended for files which are referred to frequently. It keeps records in a specified order for prompt and easy retrieval.
For fast and easy identification of files, transparent title holders, fixed flush with each coupling channel are provided.

(b) Eezeefiles: In this system tough kraft board folders are suspended from the cradles in the drawer. The top edges are reinforced using a wire rod. On the ends of these wire rods, moduled plastic covers are fixed to enable the folders to slide smoothly. The Eezeefile folder have slots along the top edge making it convenient to fit transparent tabs for title inserts. Tabs with title inserts can be located diagonally, enabling files to be located at a glance. To economise the cost of filing, Eezeefile folders are available with clips to be used as files, thereby eliminating the need for seperate file folders.
