MY FAVOURITE PICTURES

After living in Japan for almost an year, its difficult not to take your girl along too for your next trip...So I decided to take Sangi along, and we had a fun time moving in Japan. And to top it all, we stayed in Singapore on the way back...These phigs speak for themselves, though totally unorganised...{April 2004}

I just returned from my Japan trip, after visiting our Research center there. Japan has always fascinated me, and I have been a favourite fan of the Ninja, through Eric Van Lustbader's (!) Nicholas Linnear series..., and the customs of the Japanese. I learnt these, and more... I was also lucky to experience the Soccer fever, as the world cup soccer matches raged through. Then climbed to top of Mt.Fuji during a typhoon, went to Nikko and had trout, and went skiing in Ski-dome. I was also happy to meet Daisuke, my IISc friend in Japan! Here are some pictures taken during the Soccer finals in Yokohama, outside the stadium. {August 2002}

Last month, I was at the Audio Engineering Society's 112th convention in Munchen, Germany. I presented a paper on ways of implementing signal transforms on DSPs, in the SP forum. It was great to meet many innovators in the audio engineering field. I met Dolby himself, Brandenburg, Dietz, Schuller, among other great people (apart from Stefan, another great guy!). This page has some of the pictures that I took in this culturally rich and green city. [May 2002]

Here's soyeb, a colleague at my current workplace, and a trusted lieutenant, showing off his bravado with a red-white combo this time. In this traditional Gujarati* dress, he's a real stealer...This picture was taken at a get-together in our company. [Jan 2002]{Picture}
*Gujarat - A state in the northern part of India.

I went on a SouthEast Asian tour last month. It was quite a lot of fun, making new friends across continents, eating a totally new and different cuisine, learning new languages and meeting with colleagues whom you talk to normally only over the phone. With a myriad variety of cultures around, no amount of pictures can truly recreate the delight I experienced during my travel through these lands. I have put up some of these photographs here. Late last year I travelled to the United States. I went to the Silicon Valley, had a look at Stanford, the Stanford University being one of my favourites. I also travelled to Galveston, and SanAntonio with Venky. Most of my travel was between Houston and Dallas. I broke some speed records for driving :), and drove around 7 different models of cars. Some pictures here. [August 2001]{more}

Nandu was my roommate during my schooling days at Indian Institute of Science. We made quite a pair, with him adopting a policy of "sleep late, wake up late", and myself doing exactly the opposite, that we used to meet only occasionally, that too only during the weekends! Nandu is now going for PhD at UCSD, in Quantum Information Theory. This picture was taken at his house in Bangalore, while he was still working with Synopsys. It is really sad to see him go!

This is a picture of my classmates at IISc. [Middle 2000]{more}

When I was in GE, me and my group won an award for suggesting the best growth models for GE. This picture was taken with my friends in GE, when we were given a free vacation in Nepal as a result of that.. [Middle 1997]{more}
