The Astrological Houses and Aspects

In Astrology there are 12 Houses of 30 degrees each.  It is the placement of the planets in each of these houses that form one of the bases of an astrological chart.  Depending on the relationship between the planets' symbolism and the houses' symbolism, a horoscope can be created.

Between every two planets, there can be an angle measured.  This angle is called an aspect.  
Positive/Beneficial Aspects include: Conjunction (0), Sextile (60), & Trine (120)
Contradictory/Unfavorable Aspects include: Opposition (180) & Square (90) 

Similarly, each of the zodiac signs relates to the other signs depending on their angle away from each other.  
Two signs sharing the same element are in Trine with each other.  
Two signs with the same qualities are in either Opposition or Square with each other.  
Finally, Sextile relationships exist between Earth and Water as well as Fire and Air.
