Jesse participates in a Team Expedition to

the summit of Mount McKinley

June / July 1999.

Resting during the climb.   We carry about 85 lbs of   equipment each. Limit   ourselves to 1000 feet   vertical per day after 14,000   feet to acclimatize to the   declining oxygen levels.
The scenery is breathtaking.   So is the lack of oxygen. We   struggle onward and upward.
We make camp, carving   shelter in the deep snow to   protect ourselves and our   equipment from the driving   winds.
