Mandar is a simple man. He is not one for subtle nuances or complex interactions. His hobbies include drinking beer, practicing with his sword and crocheting. Mandar stands 6'4" and weighs over 300 pounds. He is powerfully built and extremely muscular. Usually clad in platemail and bearing a silver, singing bastard sword, Mandar makes an imposing impression. His short blond hair, blue eyes, boyish good looks and niave demeanor give him the air of a simple farm hand. And in truth, that is not far off the mark.
Born a slave, Mandar escaped captivity with the help of the shapeshifter, Krell. The pair fled the Great Kingdom, never to return. Accustomed to extremely hard labor, Mandar became a warrior and protected his wizardly benefactor. The pair made their way to Portown where they helped found the Second Portown Party with Kara Drake, Fadranth Steppenwolf, Chira, Analu Surella and others.
During their early years, the heroes battled ghouls and orcs, uncovering various hidden tombs in the Cairn Hills. But their actions didn't go unnoticed, for soon the minions of Death=Adder began following the party, seeking the ancient necromantic tome, the Book of the Dead. When stealth failed, Karina (Death=Adder's commander) had Analu and Kara captured. They were to be tortured to death, in hopes of finding the book. Mandar followed the orcs and charged into tent where the captives were being "questioned". He broke the prisoners free, although it cost him his life.
His friends were able to recover a piece of his body and therefore have him reincarnated. To his horror, Mandar returned to life as an ogress. Ashamed of his form and in denial, Mandar begged Krell to polymorph him into his original form. The spell appearently worked.
Mandar joined his comrades in fighting Death=Adder. While he appeared to once again be a human man, within was still the reincarnated ogress. Mandar was stronger and even smarter, but clumsier. He lost his renown stamina. And some of his male drives. In all Mandar proved a more potent fighter and brighter adversary. The change also brought out a tender side in the young warrior.
Death=Adder's war ravaged several towns, creating many refugees and orphans. One eight year old girl in particular caught Mandar's eye. He took this young waif in and raised her as his daughter. He taught the girl sword play and retired from adventuring so she would have a father. For income, Mandar began working for Venturus Drake's merchant house, eventually being adopted into the family. Today, Bethany Drake is an accomplished swordswoman and an experienced witch of Bahamut. She loves her father dearly and would do anything for him.
Nearly a decade passed, during which time Mandar worked for Venturus. After a series of caravans were sacked, Mandar again found himself slashing his way through foes. And at the end of this, the party uncovered a strange temple to an ancient god. The god promised Mandar that which he desired most, his manhood, in exchange for retrieving an item from the drow of the Underdark. Without hesitation, Mandar accepted. A moment later, one of Mandar's comrades revealed herself to be Kara. She had journeyed from the other side of the world to proclaim her love for him. His new masculinity stirring long-silent feelings, Mandar fell headlong into his passions. During their quest for Ghaunadaur, Mandar asked Kara to marry him, proposing with a single, perfect, link of adamantine chain mail as a ring.
Their quest accomplished, Mandar and Kara were married on March 14th, 608. They were last seen flying off into the sunset...
Margo is a third level goblin mage originally from Greendale. She was one of the founding members of the K-Z Party. Originally a human fighter, this is her second reincarnation. While trying to fight off encircling wolves, all but one of her comrades fell. So, Margo was left to fight the wolves while Brianna Talgris tried to get the other bodies under cover and healed. Margo went down in a blaze of glory, but not before taking more than a few wolves with her. Fortunately her friends were able to get her reincarnated and she came back as a human woman and was still able to be a fighter. She died again, later, battling gnolls and was again reincarnated, this time in her goblin form.
Margo currently resides in the Mage's Guild of Greyhawk and is under the tutelage of Treblo SkyMage. Margo often practices her magic on short adventures. Most recently, she joined a party to enter a living dungeon where she encountered such creatures as gargoyles, flesh golems and hundreds of rats. Prior to that, she adventured in the sewers of Greyhawk, taking on wererats. Margo has had quite an illustrious career as an adventurer thus far and has made a name for herself in the Greyhawk region. She is known as "the goblin mage". She took great pride in being the secretary for the Council against the Illithid Invasion two years ago. She was able to meet more than a few of the greatest heroes of Oerth such as Moorak Drake, Gamoth of Ki and his trusted friend Ashtabular, and Margus Jamiah.
Margo comes from a family of adventurers, most notable of whom is her brother Gilford. Her best friend since childhood and fellow adventurer is Jessica Talgris. She has also known of the brother/sister team of Brianna and Kalavor Talgris who are from a neighboring village and were also members of the original K-Z Party. Kalavor has been like a big brother to her and she especially enjoys taking a ride on his back when he is in wereform. However, most of the time she ends up dangling by her clothes from his mouth. She's had more than a few drool baths from Kalavor. Since she's been a goblin, she has joined Kalavor in stealing the freshly baked pies left out on the window sill by his sister. Margo is proud to say that she is now an aunt to Kalavor and Jessica's daughter, Samandra.
The goblin mage has brownish orange skin, yellow eyes, two brown hairs sticking out the top of her head, a BIG mouth and lots of teeth. She usually wears her repaired boots of speed and a blue dress. She is friends with may people in the Guild including the fashion bug, Teela Shaldomar, the sorcerer, Aris Tradewind, and Treblo's other private student, Malok Drake.
Moorak Drake is a well-known and famous hero of Oerth, perhaps one of the best known of his generation. Actually in his early 40's, Moorak appears in his late twenties. He has medium-length golden hair and a matching full beard as well as amber colored eyes. Moorak stands 6'2" and weighs some 280 lbs. His frame is large and extremely well-muscled and his strength rivals many of Oerth's strongest warriors. Although Moorak doesn't wear armor, he is immediately recognized as a fighting lord by his size and shape if not his presense and bearing (and battle axe!).
Moorak usually dresses in a large white shift, tan breeches, reddish-brown boots and belt, a saffron cloak, brass bracers, a few rings, quarter staff and several weapons. Moorak is never without his "silver" neckchain and the lump of brass it suspends around his thick neck. Usually also around his neck is Ashira, Moorak's pet fire drake. Moorak's suntaned skin goes well with the more sedate colors he wears; all variations on golds, dull reds and hues of brown.
Moorak has been adventuring on Oerth for over 21 years and amased a horde of experience, gold and heroic deeds. He is known from the mountains of the Yeomanry to the plains of the Duchy of Urnst and from the forested reaches of Furyondy to the tip of the Hold of the Sea Princes. During his career, Moorak has raised three dragons (Tycho, Baahamar and Mirrana), annihilated an assassin's guild, defeated an invasion by several species of giants, traveled to other worlds, battled demons and devils, been (literally) to Hell and back, fought for the rebellion in Furyondy and pulled together the destruction of the mind flayer both under Neregan and on Luna. Moorak's most famous accomplishments, however, deal with the numerous dragons he has slain. His own favorite deeds, however, are the fathering and raising of his sons, Garlok, Malok and Jenner, and his daughter, Robyndella.
A Lord in both title and fighting prowess, Moorak is also a full-fledged wizard, having studied under his former adventuring companion, Treblo SkyMage. Moorak counts among his friends the Druid, Margus Jamiah, his fellow Lord, Bart Silverwind, his high elven wife, Aarondella Nimrith-Drake and the Witch-Priestess of Bahamut, Rhanée StrongArm. It is here that Moorak's reputation serves his best, for he is an admitted worshipper of a pagan god, Bahamut, Lord of Dragons. Although such a heathen would normally never be suffered in the "Paladin Nation" of Furyondy, Moorak's deeds preceded him. When then-Princess-elect Damelia St. Karlon invested him with Lordship and the Lands of Amberwood, only a few priests raised their voices to oppose him. Their protests went unrecognized.
Moorak rarely adventures these days, save when some great threat appears. He prefers to spend his time with his children, family and friends. He has spent a wealth of time and gold rebuilding the fiefdom he has been given. He has worked hard to create a more tollerant domain within his fief, one where good witches may dwell in peace. Although his nobility was granted to him, Moorak's own reputation exceeds the social standing of a Lord. His bloodline, however, traces back to the Aerdy Lords of old. In his hometown of Ningal, City of Witches, Moorak's father, Venturus Drake, schooled Moorak, his twin sister, Caeleia and elder brother, Shang-lung in the tongue and history of the Oerdians. Moorak has done this with his own children, Garlok, Robyndella, Malok, Jenner, and Kymmera, to varying degrees of success. Other members of Moorak's family include his cousins, Raitan and Kara Drake, and their father, Vladimir Drake.
