Noble Houses like them or not, are the force behind the politics of the Duchy. Almost all of them consider rulership their right or duty. How it's to be carried out, is another matter. With the Duchess raising the power of the commoners, and the Duke insisting on higher standards for the Nobility; each House waxes and wanes in the winds of change.
The Commoners are the blood and bone of any land and woe to the Noble who underestimates them. Be they born of dreams or nightmares, the common kith of the Duchy are proud of who they are, and their own heritiage.
