Ever since I first saw one of these machines I was fascinated. It looked so coool! I was driving down Moorland Road in New Berlin, WI when I spied the machine sitting in the parking lot of a professional offices building. I passed, doubled back and pulled into the parking lot. I looked at the machine from end to end and there in the windshield was a little sign: "Make an offer". I took down the number to call, checked over the machine again and finally got in my car and took off. I agonized over calling the number for several weeks. Finally, I called and talked to the owner. It seems that he bought it from a friend of his who was in the beer distribution business and he bought it from Coors as part of an advertising campaign for the Silver Bullet brand of beer. It was painted silver of course and had "Coors Silver Bullet" painted all over it. When the present owner purchased it, he had it repainted white and used it for several years to advertise his business which was professional photography. I talked to him several times after that but could not bring myself to make an offer. Week after week I would tell myself "Forget it". The next week I would agonize over calling the owner again.
Years passed.
I got access to the internet.
The first thing I did was search for "Pulse", "AutoCycle", "Auto Motorcycle" and any other permutation I could think of. I found "Feet Forward" motorcycles, I found the EcoMobile in Switzerland. Well, I have chronicled my adventure in purchasing one of these machines in the table below. If you want the history of the BD LiteStar as I have been able to piece it together so far click here.
