our lab bought 3 cute BOOK-PCs! The spec can be found at

spec.html . Well, there's quite few options available
on this page, our purchased PCs had the following spec:
Model Name: SF-631G(No special meaning) SiS 630E Chipset Celeron 800 MHz(FC-PGA/FSB66MHz) 128Mb(1024Mb) SiS 900 10Base-T/100 Base-TX Fast Ethernet(On-board) 56K V.90(On-board) CD-ROM 52x HDD 40G Sound Controller C-Media CMI8738(On-board) VGA 640x480 - 1920x1440(On-board)I was only interested in fixing the following things: 1. Ethernet Controller(without it, BOOK-PC is meaningless to me) 2. VGA controller(want to run X?) 3. Sound controller(hei, want to listen to music, right?)I installed Red Hat Linux 7.0.1(Fisher) to my BOOK-PC(used 20GB). Rest(20GB) gone to Windows 2000 professional. Win 2000 gave me no problem cause www.toyomura.co.jp provided all those drivers. However, when I tried Red Hat Linux 7.0.1, I found that it can't recognize my Ethernet Card, VGA controller or Sound Controller. So, I had to do the following things: |
