Remembering the "50's."
I know my Father,(John O. Power, deceased), who was in the Steel Industry all
of his life, would have really appreciated this program
back in the 30's and 40's, when all the math was done by hand
using a book called "Smoley's Parallel Tables of Logarithms and Squares"
for getting answers on triangles and segmental functions.
Dad started in business in 1933, when times were really tough.
He cashed in a Life Insurance Policy for $500 dollars, and his partner (Bob)
had $100 dollars, and they started
"Hickory Steel and Iron Co.Inc." in Hickory,N.C.
I started working in the shop in 1956 during school vacation.
Dad sold out in 1961 and the whole family moved to Florida.
My detailing experience began in 1962, and I still love it !
Enjoy the Program,
Tom Power
