Whether you like traditional Viennese cuisine at a Beisel or prefer innovative and creative new restaurants; whether you appreciate the culinary arts of gourmet temples or would like to try the delicacies of ethnic cuisines - which are offered from A (as in Arabian) to V (as in Vietnamese) in Vienna; whether you like trendy in-places or tranquil restaurant gardens: Vienna offers variety and nuance.

And Vienna has tradition. In this city of dreams, elements of different cultures have always merged to form something unique and new. What is now known as native Viennese cuisine actually comes from all over Europe.

Here, it was refined and redefined and enriched by the Viennese ingredient gemütlichkeit, as you encounter it at a coffeehouse and a Heurigen. Go out in the evening, take a stroll, taste a little - and whet your appetite...
There are some typical Viennese Coffes;
Melange:
coffee with frothy milk
Kleiner oder grosser Brauner:
coffee with cream
Espresso:
strong, black Italian-style coffee
Einspänner:
mocha with whipped cream, served in a glass
Fiaker:
mocha with brandy, served in a glass
Cakes and pastries to accompany your coffee
Strudel:
sweet flaky pastry with apple, nut or sweet cheese filling
Beugel:
short pastry croissant with nuts
Golatschen:
puff pastry with sweet cheese or jam filling
Rehrücken:
chocolate cake
Zimtschnecke:
spiral-shaped pastry with nut filling and sugarcoating
If you have time I suggest you to get out of your hotel room and go a coffe house. If you do that I am sure you will not be sorry and you will feel relaxed.
Bon Apetite..
