Monash Memorial Hall c1944,
Mollie Sando collection. |
On September 3, 1939, the foundation stone
was laid by Mr.W.Macgillivray, M.P., in place of the Premier Mr. Playford,
who was recalled from Berri because of the declaration of war
that same day. The hall was completed in November, 1939.
During World War II soldiers came from as far afield as the Loveday
internee camp to dances at the hall, it's floor surface being highly
regarded. |
