All About Me

So really, who am I. Well I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, which is perfect because I love the outdoors. It is probably one of the greatest places in the world for fly fishing, camping/hiking, and wild life. I am 24 years old and have graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering (with a strong background in Computer Engineering) at the University of Victoria. I have about 5 zillion interests. As you may have seen, I love to work with computers. You name it, I love to work with it. I am specializing in Software Engineering, but I also work a lot with embedded systems. Most of my time is spent tinkering around with one thing or another, usually while creating the biggest mess you could possibly imagine. And usually to wee hours in the morning which leaves no energy to clean up. Often, to the point where all I get in the morning are "Oh honey" comments from my wife Marci when she sees my work place. I also have the uncanny talent of working through an entire conversation without taking in one bit of it. I am often told that I have said stuff that I don't recall one bit of. Although, I sometimes think this is a ploy by Marci to get me to do things by telling me that I said I would. But, that aside, I really do enjoy making things go.

I love to hear from people with the same interests and don't get enough chance to work with others. Sometimes, the wonderful world of computers, science, and engineering can be an intimidating place. Particularly when you are looking for information that you may not be too familiar with. So, if you are stuck on something or just want to shoot the breeze, by all means, email me. I promise to pay attention. I am a firm believer in communication and not competition. I know many would disagree with this idea which is great. One way of thinking will never get us anywhere. But, with a collection of people who really love what they are doing, there is no telling what they can achieve. One of most the wonderful things you can share with others is knowledge. And where can we learn if not from each other?

I am also a video game junkie. Marci is very good about it, thankfully, and tries to play along (but I know she really isn't that interested in my games). I have played video games for as long as I can remember. I mostly enjoy strategy and simulation software. Some of the best, in my opinion, are:

Civ. II: Test of Time
Imperialism I & II
Rogue Spear
Fighters Anthology
Microsoft Combat Simulator
Need For Speed - High Stakes

Oh yeah, and I can't forget my most recent addiction...EverQuest. It is an online rpg style game. I currently am only working on one character. He is now a level 14 druid named Zefiear. So if you play, make sure you say hi.

I also love animals. I have two dogs, a lovebird named Charlie, a budgie named Angel, and for the whole time I was growing up, I had two beautiful cats. Now I have two more kitties, Egypt and Winslow. They are all the greatest. They really can keep you company for when you are really feeling low. I am also a huge fan of motorcycles, and I try to go riding every chance I get on my bike. Unfortunately, the winters here are a little too cold and wet to be riding all year round, so often I only get about 6-8 months of riding in a year. But that is ok, cold winters are good for other things....

Well of course that is not all that I do....I love to spend time with my wife. She is the largest part of my life, and I try to spend as much time with her as I possibly can. Quite frankly, she is the most special person to me and really that is all I do recently, is spend time with her. I would do anything for her to make her happy. We are finally together now. She now lives in Victoria with me after moving from Florida. Anyone who says that long distance relationships can not work, is completely wrong (we are married after all...see the page about her). I mean it is very difficult being apart all of the time....but I love her very much and we worked it out...as you can see. Before you leave, do make sure that you visit her awesome web site, The Elderly Place.

Anyway, as I mentioned before, feel free to email me if you have any questions.
