Hardware Projects

Calculator

For a project in a digital hardware class, Scott Noyce and I built a calculator using as few parts as we could manage. The thing that most people find amazing about this is that it was built on a proto board (one person compared it to writing a program on punch-cards, where if you drop a stack them, it takes days to restore).

Software Projects

This will take me a while to get organized. Some of my smaller programs and projects can be found on my programming page. Here's a list of some of the larger projects that I may put on here.

• The Game -- Was supposed to be a group effort, but I was the only person in the group who did anything for it.


• Java based graphics programs (3d viewing) -- Solo effort


• C++ based raytracer -- Solo effort


• C++ based pathtracer -- Another solo effort. Some of the images generated by it can be found here


• Tango Compiler (C++ based, written for a fictitious language) -- Group effort with David Marion


• Contributions to the GNU Project Panorama -- Major group effort.
  I supplied bug fixes, additions to the scene description language, and the ability to have any object in a scene also be a light source.


• Machine learning programs, including a version of The Game (genetic algorithms), tic-tac-toe (q-learning), and others (neural nets, etc.) -- All were solo efforts.
