Awards time is here. No, it's not the "Oscar" , "Grammy" or the "Emmy" awards. It's the awards for the World Wide Web where they choose the 'best of the best' of the Internet. It's the "Webby Awards". And here are the nominees and winners which are catogarized into 15 categories.

Motley Fool AOL's famous investment forum hits the Web in full cry. These fools' mission? To convince average Joes and Janes that they not only can make money investing on their own, but can actually beat the Wise (the investing pros who say financial markets are no place for amateurs). What's with the name? To quote from "The 13 Steps to Investing Foolishly": "It is the very essence of Folly to invest for oneself, to make one's OWN mistakes, to learn one's OWN lessons, to enjoy the fruits of one's OWN investment successes." Dare to be Foolish.
Fortune A cornucopia for the intelligent investor. Not only will you find electronic versions of Fortune articles-including photos and charts-but also some excellent tools for cyber-capitalists, including how-to-invest advice and "An Address Book for Online Investors," which provides links to some 20 personal finance Web sites. To keep you coming back, the Fortune site provides daily business news updates, in plain text or via RealAudio. What's it all cost? Zilch, since the site is ad-supported. Even better, the ads are positioned unobtrusively near the top of the screen, so they're easy to ignore. A must stop. .
CNNfn Financial information sites from all sorts of reputable sources abound. But CNNfn, the online presence of CNN's all-finance cable channel, is a standout. The slick but simple home page gives you at-a-glance numbers for the major markets, a list of the hour's top stories, and to special personal finance and technology sections. The site also offers free access to an abbreviated version of the Hoover Company database, otherwise available only by subscription.

    Edmund's Automobile Guide

Attention, car shoppers: Don't buy a vehicle until you've explored this site. Edmund's goes the extra mile to provide car buying information that's as easy to follow as a Geo Metro with a flat tire. Our favorite section offers handy tips on how to deal with used car salesmen and related showroom vermin. You'll also find reviews of new cars, crash-test information, and up-to-date listings of new car incentives and rebates. Even better, it's all FREE. No flashy graphics or Java applets here, just priceless advice on how to get the best four wheels your money can buy.
Adbuster's Culture Jammer's Headquarters Sure the viewpoint here is stridently lefty. But the online version of Adbusters Magazine also happens to be one of the wittiest sites, on any subject, we've ever seen. Its deft combination of short essays, smart graphics (try clicking one of the ads), direct-action pranks, and pertinent links makes it well worth reading, whichever side of the political fence you fall on. What's all this got to do with money? If spending same is a political act, here's your manifesto.
