Canadian Buttons
Here are some buttons that you can
use on your Web page. English and French versions are available.
The buttons are all symbols of Canada.
The message on the buttons, Canadian, Eh?
is a satirical look at the Canadian stereotype. I do not know many Canadians
who actually speak this way, but I'm sure there are some. This phrase shows
pride for our country, yet the ability to make fun of ourselves.
There are several different categories
of buttons to choose from. Choose the category that you want:
General Buttons are just little buttons with symbols
of Canada and the words "Canadian, Eh?" or "Canadian, En?" for French.
The banners show Canadian landscapes, or something
to that effect. They are basically any longer images we've done.
The "Eh?" buttons are our new theme. They include
only the word "Eh?" and a symbol.
We don't have many animated gifs yet, but we're
working on it. Look for new animations soon!
The Miscellaneous buttons are the leftovers. These
buttons don't fit in the above categories, but check them out anyway.
How To Use The Buttons
If you want to do this, here are the
steps:
- Get the image you want from this page.
- Open your favorite HTML editor and insert this code:
<A HREF="http://geocities.datacellar.net/
SiliconValley/Pines/7262/canada.html"><IMG
SRC="yourimagename.gif"></A>
The HTML has been broken up so you can see it all, so put it all on one line.
- Upload your image and newly modified HTML file.
- Test your page to see if it works. (Yeah, yeah, it probably does,
but this can save you a lot of trouble. I'm paranoid about this, so just do it.)
- Enjoy your new addition!
You can also get a text file with the instructions.
A note to all of you who are
artistically inclined:
We are looking for people to design and/or do the art for the buttons. Do
you think you could do them better? Chances are, you can! We need all
the help we can get!
