Front Right Corner Top View:
Kinda like Big Daddy Roth (heh!) Front wheels are for testing
software and will go away later. Will be adding a front push board and
maybe small scoop.
Un-tested edge board to left. LED/phototransistors from a mouse. This
MCU board will be replaced with the correct size one later.
Plenty of pins left for front sensors, too. May be adding voltage control
to 74AC245 motor-driver chip supply pin for speed control.
Front Left Corner View:
This is the gear train. Brass gears are 60 teeth. Motors are 15 teeth
as is the driven gear. Second gear has 20 teeth.
This gives 15/60=4; 15/60=4; 20/60=3 or 4 * 4 * 3 = 48 final ratio.
It'll push my rolled-up rag-place mat around!
Most of the time the wheels just spin, ie burn rubber. You can see
how the pager motors are mounted in angle brass with two nylon cable ties.
Distance from the back vertical edge of the mud tires to the front
tires is 1 31/32" or less. Ditto for width. Those are my fingers.
There's still room for sensors and batteries as it's not full height,
yet. Although it does occasionally flip back onto it's backside and keep
moving.
Bottom View:
Shows the plastic piece needed to hold the back wheel+gear combos into
their bearing tube.
Right Side View:
Paperclip mcu/battery support. Possibly will be adding rear pushboard
with rear viewing sensors.
