While Lou’s professional career starting to grow in Dubai, Cesar’s
company had begun moving its operation to the Philippines after
completing several prestigious projects in Brunei. The firm did not want to be left behind from the momentum gained
by the Philippine economy under President Ramos. Their Love Story
Their relationship just like any love story has its own ups and downs
for Cesar and Lou. As Cesar was already in the Philippines and Lou in
Dubai their relationship had dwindled. Insecurities grew and temptations
had crept in. However, the two had withstood all these trials and
temptations and had proven that long distance love affair still works.
After nearly 8 years of courtship, the two finally got married in a
simple wedding ceremony in Lupit Church, Bacolod City, Philippines on
December, 1997.
Since Cesar already had a stable job in the Philippines and earning
quite well to support a small family, so the two had decided to settle back
in the Philippines after the wedding. The plan however was not realized
because the Philippine economy got all messed up once again when Joseph
Estrada was elected as president and there was sharp decline of peso
amidst the Asian crises.
Cesar in Dubai
Cesar finally decided to move with Lou in Dubai on November of 1999. Starting all over again, he worked as a computer salesman in a small
computer shop in Bur Dubai. He had to stand for 8 long hours a day and
only earn a meager salary to support a life in Dubai. He shared a
small room with a friend while Lou was still staying in Dubai Duty
Free accommodation. However, out of luck and never got tired of sending
résumés Cesar was able to work as an Executive Assistant in a Direct
Marketing company, Jacobsons. This time earnings got doubled and the couple
started to rent a partitioned room of a small studio flat. It
was on this job that Cesar had gained knowledge in brand building and
advertising. Although he already enjoyed the job and the people in the
organization, an opportunity had opened for Cesar’s skills and
background. He was hired as a Project Scheduler by
Gulf
Testing Factory Services, a Software
Testing Company operated by a big local conglomerate. It’s again a
spring board for his career in software project management. He had been
assigned to major projects the company handled, including Saudi Telecom
Corporation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Surrounded by
experts in mainframes, mid range and the internet application, Cesar did
not waste anytime to learn as much as possible from his peers.
This is where he had developed extensive skills in computing that
eventually led him to his present job. This time, as a web developer for
multinational company and biggest electronics maker in the world,
Sony. |
