Main Street of the old days was a quaint strip, home for the Legoland Hotel and its neighbor, the Legoland Construction Company. The hotel eventually bought its neighbor, Main Street was renamed Legoland Boulevard, and eventually the Legoland Mall Shopping Centre was born. The Centre has changed faces many times over the years, and the hotel has disappeared, but hints of old Main Street can still be found. Legoland Towers was begun in 1988 as the first multi-story project by the Legoland Construction Company. The first building had a main lobby floor and two upper floors of studio apartments. A third apartment was added on the top of the building in 1989. Refinements have occurred since 1989, and today's Legoland Towers boasts large studio apartments, balconies, improved structural rigidity (following a 1993 collapse), and a formal lobby. |
