| Ok, this section is new and a bit of an experiment. As
you can see, I've taken a few famous paintings and turned them into tiles. The only
problem is the whole size vs. compression and clarity issue - i.e., you need a fairly
large image in order to make the tile interesting and recognizable, but you want to keep
the file size down so they aren't memory hogs. Of course, heavy compression (even
vector-based compression) destroys detail and defeats the purpose. Hmmm....... gonna hafta
play around some more. In the meantime, here are a few of my first efforts in this
section. File sizes are around 30K so they're not tooooooooo outrageous. Hope you enjoy. There are 12 images in this category as of May 01, 1999. |
| I should also add that the original images used to make these tiles were all blatantly borrowed from CGFA - http://sunsite.unc.edu/cjackson/index.html - simply the best collection of fine art I have encountered in all my years of surfing. Carol does an amazing job and I recommend her site highly. |
