If we are to have a joint reunion with Prep66 in year 2000, we might as well get to know each other now!

Hi RENO!!
Kamusta !! Tell us more about yourself now.
Lalo na ang address at
phone mo. I was just talking to Benjie and he remembers
na inggit na
inggit siya sa inyo dahil pang military ang "school
bus" ninyo.
Siyam na ang nawala sa atin. you'll notice it from
the directory I'm
sending you.
Medyo talagang loaded ako sa trabaho, kaya di ako
masyadong nakakapag-
email ngayon. But the others in the email
list may have old letters
that they can pass on to you.
We're planning a grand reunion in the Philippines.
Perhaps you can
work out the schedule among you guys out there.
warm regards,
Manny (Canillas)

Hi folks!
Received this mail from Reno which I'm forwarding to you.
Limited pa rin ang
listing ko sa address book so kayo lang ang mapapadalhan
ko sa ngayon.
Inday
Hi, Inday!!!! It's Reno. Of course, I remember
you. I used to bug you all
the time. Hey, so you are Mrs. Noli Icasas ( or
did he become Mrs. Sason,
just kidding ). I am really glad to hear from you
guys. I've been on the
'net for 2 years searching. But let me tell you
this, you guys are in the
Toronto area, right?
GRACHELL comes from my daughters names Grace and
Cheryl combined. Its my
home e-mail address. I'm off today coz I'm picking
up the wife at the
Vancouver airport coming home from Manila.
So, what about you? Write me
back with some info like phone #, etc. OK? Stop by Vancouver
sometime and
give us a call. Take Care and looking forward to hearing
from you again. Best Regards, Reno>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi Reno!!
Welcome to the Prep 66 email train. Kamusta na?
I hope you still remember me - si Inday Sason - Icasas.
I noticed that your address is under Grachell's
name. There's only one person I know by that name and it's
Grachell Garcia. She's the daughter of our neighbor
in Cubao who was also a good friend of mine. I'm
eager to hear from you too so I won't keep this
long. E-mail me back soon OK.
Regards,
Inday

Hi, Edna.. Of course, I remember you. You used to live
in
Baclaran/Paranaque area, right? I used to live in Nichols
Air Base, now
Villamor. Nice to hear from you after all these
years!!!! Joey Mundo said
he always checked on my whereabouts but nobody knew where
I was. Actually
I was in Manila in 1989, and went out for dinner
and drinks with Boy Rubio
and Manny Singson (the skinny one ) sorry Bong, if you're
listening!!! I'm
sure you have the basic info about me and my family,
by now. You know San
Diego is not too far from Vancouver? I have cousins
there, Ferraris family
, and they used to drive like convoys to Vancouver in
the summer time. I
always travelled to L.A. but didnt know of any Prepians
then. Now I know.
What about Rosemarie Villanueva? Update me on her, OK?
One quick question, almost all Prepians are in the States,
is there anybody
else in Canada anywhere?I also asked Inday about Emlio
( Boyet ) Dominguez
and Alex Torres. Any info ?Well, this all for now
, and dont worry, I'll
keep in touch. Send me the e-mail messages from
the others that you and
Inday were referring to, OK? Take care and please
write back. Regards to
you and your family.

Hi Reno!
This is Edna Santos-Alberto welcoming you.
I hope you still remember me.
Inday and Manny forwarded a copy of your messages and
it's really nice to
find one more member of our batch. I live with
my family (hubby and two
children 17 & 14) in the San Diego area. There
are some stories/updates about
our batch that Inday & I will try to keep you updated
with (right Inday?).
By the way, if I remember right, Rosemarie Villanueva
(remember her?) used to
live (or might still be living) in that area. So
let's continue e-mailing each
other, even just to say hello.
Regards to you and your family --
Edna

Hi, Inday, and all Prepians.. Sure you can forward all
e-mail from me and
could I expect some from you guys, too? Just got
back from a conference o n
Personal Investment today in Vancouver. Poor turn
out but picked up some
good interesting new companies. This is what I do in
my spare time time
now..stock markets and a little speculation. It's
exciting, but could be
frustrating and stressful. Any body want
some TIPS,??? Until last
December, my other interest was darts- where I sponsored
top Canadian
female and male dart players for a percentage of their
winnings. We used
to travel accross US and Canada, but I got tired of it,
and the money was not
really big..About two years ago, I was a feature
story in the "Bullseye
Magazine", a top international magazine on darts based
in Chicago. Not
bad, Huh?
Butch Garcia e-mailed me about Ms. Cruz, right now he's
probably figuring
out how to accept Canadian checks. I remember I used
to get in a lot lof trouble
with Ms Cruz on assignments and homework. Hope she comes
out of this OK.
I also heard from Edna Santos today. I'll write her back
when I'm done with
this. So... how's Noli been?I was hoping I could get
a message from him
"personally" by e-mail. Tell him take a break now
and then.About my
family, I have two daughters and a boy Andrew.
I moved to Canada in 1973,
stayed in Winnipeg, ( that's not far from Minnesota )
for 3 years and then
moved to Vancouver in 1976, where there's mountains,
oceans, trees, and a
much warmer weather. Now that the kids are getting older
and bigger, I
finally have some time for myself. And yeah, getting
in touch with high
school classmates sure is a great thing. I'll be
in this reunion next
year, are you guys going? I have'nt been in any reunion
since I left
Manila. Did I tell you that about 20 years ago,
I checked in at the
emergency ward here in Vancouver for tonsilitis? I did
not believe my eyes
who came in my ward to check me up!!! It was Bob Sayson!!!!
We kinda lost
contact after a while because he was busy with cancer
research and
humanitarian projects.
Hey, I'm glad you wrote back. I'm getting used
to this e-mail communication with Prepians that I get
impatient when I dont
get one. If you or Noli can write me back today,
that will be great. What
I'm really curious about is what happened to Emilio Dominguez
and Alex
Torres. Can you let me know? Bye for now
and Take Care..... Bon Jour from
Canada, eh????

Dear Reno,
Glad to hear from you!! Isn't this email system
great? It's nice to be
able to communicate with long lost friends easily
- parang nasa malapit lang
kayo.
And the response is quicker hindi tulad ng postal
serveice. Before I go
on, I hope you don't mind my forwarding your mail
to others like Joey Mundo,
Manny Canillas, Edna Santos-Alberto, Benjie Santillan.
The truth is there are
a lot more prepians on the list but I have
yet to enter their addresses in my
directory otherwise it takes a long time to list
each one everytime I
send new mail. I should have asked your permission
first before doing it but it
was too late. I hope you don't mind. Anyway,
wala namang confidential statements
doon hindi ba?
This whole email system was started by Manny Canillas.
We were surprised
to get a call from Joey Mundo one day and it was
really nice to hear from
him.
Our classmates in the Phil. have been meeting almost
monthly and trying
to establish a database of all the members of our
class and trying to plan
for a grand reunion sometime in '99 or probably
in the year 2000. I'll try to
forward to you some of the mails that are still
in my filing cabinet so
that you'll see how long the list really is.
During one of their reunions,
Joey took pictures of the people who were there
and e-mailed it to everybody.
Noli and I could not identify anybody except for
Jerry Barican. Talagang
tumatanda na tayo!
Inday
Sason-Icasas
Anyway, let me update you on what has happened to
us since we left Padre
Faura. Noli and I went to UP, Diliman and after
4 years of Pre-Med, I
went to the College of Medicine in Herran (it's
Pedro Gil now), Manila. Noli and
I got married in June'78 and we came to live in
the US in 1980. At first we
stayed in Queens, New York then we moved to St.
Cloud, Minnesota where we've
lived ever since. We have two boys,
Jonee (18 yrs. old) who just graduated
from high school and is going to pursue aerospace
engineering in Rochester,
New York this fall; and Jerry (15 years old) will be
a sophomore in high
school this Sept. Noli is employed as a senior
systems analyst in a
manufacturing company here in St. Cloud. I had
been practising part time until
recently when I quit because of the difficulty
with the reimbursement in managed care.
So now I'm a full time "home management technician".
Kaya si Noli,
kailangan doble and kayod to support us all. So
that's our story in a nutshell.
Give us a call if you're in the area.
I have been in contact with Edna and Josie Angeles
during the Christmas
holidays kung nagsusulatan sa card but as time
went by, the notes kept
getting shorter as we got busier with the demands
of work and family
responsibilities.
This e-mail really creates a more efficient way
of communicating with one
another. Sabi nga ni Edna, it brings back a lot
of memories of our high
school years when we see all the familiar names
again.
So GRACHELL is actually coined from the names of
your daughters. How
many children do you have? And how long have you been
in Vancouver? I guess
it's your turn to update us and let me know if
it's ok to broadcast to
everybody.
If there are parts that you prefer not to be shared,
please let me know
so I can edit it before sending it on to the e-mail
chain.
Will wait to hear from you again. I'll have more
kwentos about other
classmates whose letters are no longer in our computer
in my next mail.
Regards to the family.
Inday
I am thrilled to hear from soooo...o many wonderful classmates
via
E-mail.
High school at the PREP was an unforgettable
experience, happy as it
was equally exciting. Happy because of all you wonderful
friends. I
hope we stay in touch. Exciting as, Manny was such a
good boxer at the
Rizal Theatre that we all landed at the Makati City Jail.
Maybe its time I tell you about what
happened to me after PREP. I
studied one year at UP Diliman. First Sem, I was a college
scholar and
second sem, I was a college flunkee so I decided to get
away from the
decadent life in Manila.
I studied for 3 more years at the
NY State College of Forestry at
Syracuse University and graduated with a BS chem. and
a BS paper Science
and Engineering (meaning paper making like my Dad), all
on state college
tuition.
I was back in the PI in 1970 to train
in the paper mill in Bataan
and at my father's company. Together with Godo, Vic,
Manny, Robert
Reyes, and EQ, we had a plastics company which did well
selling, and
manufacturing, but not collecting so it finally closed
down.I did some
car racing, but when Danny Tuazon took my one week old
Escort for a spin
and turned it upside down, I thought it was not my cup
of tea.
I was back in the US in 1972 hurrying
up to find out how to prevent
the plastics company from becoming bankrupt at Purdue
University. At the
end of the one year MS course, I had such a bad back
I could not carry
the luggage of my girl friend's mother. With a historic
case of Asthma,
that did me in with this girl friend. When I graduated,
I turned over
all my books to Gary Aug, who came to take the
same course. I learned
of Gary's death later while visiting Jerry Barican at
Harvard and
reading the newsweek article about the DC10 crash in
Chicago.
1972 was the year of martial law and
I was told to stay in the US .
I was already late in getting a job by then, so I took
an engineer's job
at a really low salary, even that this job was given
to me on the strong
recommendation of my collage classmate. MBA's were a
dime a dozen at
that time and these" Whiz Kids" were known to do more
damage than good
for any company. Poor me worked myself to death as a
process system
engineer for paper mills (16-18 hours a day), got called
in the middle
of the night " Your damn system is down again," and had
to work 36 hours
straight sometimes to repair the computerized controls.
After being the
head of a group of engineers, I still had to go to the
mills because my
engineers were married and being single, I sacrificed
for their family
life.
Being single, and the youngest I was
volunteered to take over our
family business. That was in 1978 when I returned to
the Philippines. I
recruited Bong Singson. We had a really good relationship,
and we were
successful until his first attack in 1984. He went to
Hawaii after
recuperation, but came back after problems with the visa.
In Hawaii, he
was supplying artificial plants.
Back in the Philippines, we started
a real estate business to slow
down his pace in 1990, by building and selling mid cost
homes (really
nice ones). We were up to 3 units and an empty lot when
one Saturday in
1994, I got a call informing that he died in Batangas
while attending a
Tupperware company picnic. Tupperware is where his wife
Corito worked.
Today she is the second in command, VP sales. It was
one of the saddest
times of my life. Bong came to know the Lord Jesus in
a personal way
same months back, and was actively attending church when
this happened.
Dewes Lim also worked in our company
starting our fabrications
operations. We supplied conveyors to the famous
Singapore Airport.
By the way. I got married in 1979
to Beth whom I met when I was
buying a replacement stereo which was stolen from my
car. We have 4
children. They are Kim 18, Mike 16 ( 6 ft. 3 in), and
twins Adrian and
Stephanie 13. Kim will be attending Brown University
next year as a
freshman. You'll never recognize me now if you don't
attend the
reunions, because many times when my wife picks me up,
my friends say
"your daughter is here to see you."
Our company is a joint venture with
a German company making paper
machinery, conveyors, and selling beltings. As
of a few months back,
Teddy Bernardino became my biggest potential client (PICOP).
Knowing the Lord Jesus in a personal
way , is the best thing that
happened to me. I hope you will accept Him as Bong and
I did.
God bless you all and stay in touch.
Raymond Dan
It would be nice to have everybody
featured here!
