Our site has focused mainly on our cats and cats in general. But a wise friend, Art, pointed out that our devoted, sweet Max, our Maltese, has unfairly been left out of the picture. Therefore, we are dedicating this page to you, Max, a true joy in our lives - an affectionate, gentle hearted and loving friend.
Max is surrounded by cats! With Gingercats, the two kittens, Nichie and Nikki, Max is outnumbered. And with everyone vying for our affection, Max sometimes, I regrettably must admit, gets lost in the shuffle. However Max, even though we sometimes pay more attention to the kittens than to you, our love for you has never diminished.
We do appreciate your good nature and patience with the kittens. We know how they taunt you and try their hardest to annoy you. But you always remain calm and gentle with them. How do you do it? Are you a saint disguised as a dog?
And your energy and playfulness - even at nine years old, is the same as when you were just a little pup. The affection you lavish upon us is remarkable. And how happy you are when we return home after having left you alone all day with just the cats for company. You don't even hold a grudge against us. You just jump up and down, wag your tail gleefully and lick our faces with delight.
We love you Max. You are our pet, our baby, our friend. We cannot imagine what life would be without you!! Thank you Max for being the extraordinary pup that you are.
This dedication to Max was written when Max was 9 years old. 6 years have passed since then and at the age of 15, our dear Max passed away. Max, you truly were an extraordinary pup and friend. The most loving, sweet natured and friendly canine I have ever had. You will always be remembered and greatly missed.
