I will seek to bless you

Stolen Time

If but for a tiny piece of time..
or for one word, or lack of any speech
Were one moment changed, would you be mine?
Or would I still and always be your love, forever out of reach.

I know in truth your heart and mind and all that makes you whole,
the one I know and love and crave, the rhythm to my rhyme
is paired with me, forever deep within, part of my soul
Just not your body or your time.

But can my mind rest easy?
When as a common thief I wait and plan
And would any heart believe me
My only defense undying adoration for this man

But as a pirate hoards his every treasure
I steal small bits of time,
like tiny diamonds chipped away
and hidden in my heart..... they are not mine...

Though you sought to cause me pain.

Recalling a Song

A simple song I sing for you
The tune is one you know
You’ve heard it many times before
In dreams and thoughts of long ago

Listen closely to discern
The softly voiced refrain
That echoes through the dreams
that we have shared time and again

The voice that calls out to your heart
The whispered words within your mind
Result from recollections, buried,
Of a love eternal and divine.

And despite the work you've added,

One Forever Moment

Just one moment in all time
that I might look into your eyes and call you mine
and tell you of my love, more deep and wide than all eternity.

Just one night in all forever
that I could hold you close and kiss you and endeavor
to show you all the passion that lies banked within my soul.

Just one tear in all the oceans
that have fallen from my heart, if it could be a magic potion
Then you would be mine for a moment, just one moment in all time
one forever moment in all time

I pray only for your gain.

The Lesson Learned

Do not ask me to give you trust, for this I cannot do
After all the times my heart’s been shattered over you.
Forgive I can, and will and have, and shall continue still.
But to trust you with my heart, this is beyond my skill.

And no, I shall not call you friend, for to do so I must set
my heart within your grasp; but it has not quite mended yet.
I will not call you confidante, nor bare my very soul
In truth, I have no confidance that you will leave me whole.

Please do not think I wish you harm. There is no hate in me.
In fact, there’s scant emotion left, except in memory.
The faded, faint impression of betrayal, lies and pain.
The long and lasting lesson, never trust this one again.

For GOD has taught me how to bless

Walking with You

I love to close my eyes and dream,
about a chilly winter day.
About walking along a secret path
and holding hands along the way.

Never wanting to let you go..
Being, in my heart, once again
young and free to believe in love
To flirt and to dance in the rain

I can still taste the rain on your face
And feel the chill chased away by your kiss
and the pounding of my heart, so afraid
knowing there must be an end to this bliss..

But no, for your love is and always was my joy
just as our hearts have always been one..
Our dreams are our future, our passion, our love
And my heart says someday we will walk in the sun.

All those who would curse me.

To Be One

One with whom I may laugh, one with whom I may play, one with whom I may explore..
One whom I enjoy, one whom I tease, one , my pleasure, makes me endure..
One within my soul, he who makes me whole, him, I will adore..
One that I trust, one that I need, of him I must be sure..
To be won..
To be one..
2 be 1..

HE's taught me to forgive and love.

Youthful Folly

If not for youthful folly, where might we be?
My heart still believes you would be sick of me
and my adoration.
The pain of that thought is burned into my deepest memory,
Despite the voice that tries to correct that part of me.
Such miscorrelation...
That my mind should state it was all just youthful folly.
Too light a phrase for something that caused desperate agony,
and utter devastation.

Back to Whimdex!

HIS love has set me free.

Simple Description

(This one is a poem I wrote to an old friend who hadn't seen me in a long time,
and wondered what I looked like "after all these years"!)

Ten toes, ten fingers, painted red.
Dark brown eyes that love to smile.
Dark brown hair upon my head.
Once long, now I must wait awhile.

Pale pink lips, painted with a sigh.
nervously chewed upon when in thought.
Heavily freckled, my oh my.
Despite all the remedies I have bought.

Picture the girl you used to know.
Toss in some pounds, some wrinkles and years.
Add a few children, more laughter than sorrow.
Think about fog, and the picture clears.

Playfully dancing in the rain
A dreamer, a faraway look in my eyes
Older yet wiser, some would say.
Am I really that old? Boy, how time flies!

This hidden poem dedicated to the hacker who thought me to be so stupid

Once upon a time....

Sometime between 1988 and 1992

There was a fish swimming up

There was a lion roaming through

a river; always it seemed, against

a jungle; always, it seemed, roaring at the

the current. Pushing and fighting, but always..

unseen. Fighting and crying for the right

calm. For the water had given the fish

to be at peace. For the jungle created places to hide,

a direction, and knowing there was a path cooled

but danger hid, also. The lion had to be always

the fear. But the cool and empty water left her

on guard, looking for the next battle,

lonely for some warmth, some

always a battle for peace..

passion. So she sought with all her strength.

And always winning, for he was always prepared

Her strength came from purpose, her

But never at peace. For his strength was

purpose was bourne of need, which

his fear, his fear was bourne of knowledge;

grew from knowledge. From

of memories from past battles. He knew that

knowing that if there was cold, there

if there was war, there must be peace.

Must be warmth. And always the

cool, soothing peace. But as always the

cool sound of water ran through

hot sounds of battle ran through

her mind -----

his mind -----

One day they came together.

Be loved!
