Born in Odessa Texas on September 28, 1975, actress Karan Ashley (aka Karan Ashley Jackson) is presently best known for her role as Aisha Campbell, the vivacious but often forgotten second yellow ranger on the hit kids show Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Karan has lived in Dallas, Texas for 12 years and considers that part home. She has done extensive modelling and has appeared in various magazine ads. She also has a strong rhythm and blues background and it was her strength as a hip hop dancer that helped her land her role as Aisha on Power Rangers. Her martial arts skills grew as her time on the show lengthened.
Karan has also appeared on television shows like Walker, Texas Ranger and Scratch TV and was also part of a group called KRUSH for five years. Their single "Let's Get Together" was featured in the soundtrack of the movie Mo' Money.
I have to be honest with you guys, I hated Karan when she first started on Power Rangers because I always called her "Trini's replacement". By the time the third season started, the writers gave Karan a chance to shine and she gradually grew on me. Her new hairstyle also accented her beauty and what can I say, by the time she left the show, I actually missed her. Let's hope Karan gets a meaty role soon. She's too beautiful and energetic to be out of work.
