revenge of the german tourist was taken in january 1997, and was a part of my occupational hazards period.
the idea behind this image was to portray the way seperate minds clash within real and unreal space and rupture the smooth interface of the metaphysical and the physical.
this image portrays not only a holiday snap, but that of the dynamics of a virtual area disturbed by the interference patterns of interlopers who exploit, rather than explore.
and yet the desecretation of this virtual, yet vital area, is almost faustian in it's approach as our interlopers seek their reward, that will cleanse their immortal soul.
it is as if they move with purpose, but in a chaotic unchosen order, that will ultimately cause their demise as it did for faust.
