Washington Monument

Washington Monument

The Washington Monument reflecting in the Reflecting Pool.  The monument is currently (1999) undergoing renovations and is surrounded by scaffolding.  The Capitol can be seen just to the right of the monument.  At the opposite end of the pool (behind the camera) is the Lincoln Memorial.  The Reflecting Pool was made more recognizable to millions by a memorable scene in the film "Forrest Gump".
