Ok. So here we are. You're sitting here reading this page, while I'm probably sleeping. "Why am I here?" you may ask yourself. Well, I might ask you the same question. And that's because I'M not sure why I'M here. I have theories, but I'd rather not end up in jail or in a mental institution over them.
In the unlikely event that you have an interrest in who I am, what I do, and what I'm about... I'll tell ya. I am a 23 year old guy, just trying to make it in this cruel, crazy, beautiful world. I was born and raised here in St. Paul, MN, where I am currently living.
I spent 4 years in Colorado, doing my duty for my country in the Air Force. There I worked as an electronics maintenance tech for GPS. After a whole plethora of problems (see Love, Romance, and Good Health- Why they don't mix), I got an early out and moved back here.
I now work for a leading computer manufacturer as a Tech Support rep. It's a fun job, but it definitely has it's moments (see "Why are people stupid?"- Funnies and Horrors from Tech Support Live).
I tend to spend alot of time hanging out with friends and putzing around on the computer. I am currently trying to teach myself to program in Visual C++, which is taking a little more time than I had anticipated.
12/1 I've decided to do it. I'm going for my MCSE and CNE. For those who do not know, MCSE stands for Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. It's a certification that is definitly worth getting. It is almost a status rank in the computer industry. Someone who has taken and passed the test for the MCSE can make some $50,000 a year starting with very little experience. If you tag the CNE on to that (which I believe stands for Certified Novell Engineer, though I could be wrong), you can bump that up to about $80,000 a year. Well worth the exorbitant costs of the study materials. I've seen some study kits as high as $3-5000! And when you take into account that I already have 4 years electronics experience and (when I'm done testing) over 2 years computer support the total may reach as high as $100,000! With any luck, and even more hard work, I can be sitting pretty in the lap of luxury... or at what is luxury for me. I've gotten kinda used to the simple way of life. =)
4/6/98 Woohoo! Welp, lets see. Many things have changed since the last update. I now own a cat that I have given the affectionate name of Cheezy Poof (after the delicious and ultra fattening fried cheeze snack featured in the Comedy Central cartoon series, South Park). She is the most adorable kitten you would ever want to meet. She is very personable, intellectual, and insists on sleeping on my chest. Cute, eh? Also, I just got back from an all-expense paid trip to Acapulco, Mexico! My sister won a trip and then decided not to go (dummy!). So, my best-buddy Hot-Bunz (God, that sounds bad) and I went down there and had more fun than any one person has a right to. Around here I'm not much of a drinker. In fact, previous to this, I was able to count the number of times I was intoxicated on one hand. However due to the fact that everywhere we went was open-bar, my level of sobriety dropped to zero for the entire week.
A few highlights of the trip:
