Thinking Of You
By:Bill-the-Poet

I picture you giggling at me
through summers rainy haze
I see you happily kick your way
through autumn leaves
I want your smile
To lyrics beside a fire's blaze
I need you cuddled up with me on winters eves
I sense your passion
Like breeze on a hill in spring
I spread my wings and upon them take flight
I feel emotions give a pleasure's tingling sting
I am lost to your soft touch in the quiet of night
This I wanted to say before I go to sleep
Where only dreams know where the road will end
that my feelings for you are warm and deep
You have my love,my heart...my friend.

Reflections
By:Bill-the-Poet

Late at night I sit and wonder
In midnight hours I still ponder
Of opportunities so well hidden
upon my greatest love so forbidden

There is no consolation
to my dark despair
loosing this beautiful love
is all that I fear

Was there any sense in denying
my love and passion I would be trying
but I'm forever lost to my senses
unrivalled emmotions rendered my defences

My comfort I find
in the words she has spoken
her soft "I love you"
still keeping my heart unbroken

As beams of light comes through the curtain
announcing new day's arrival as certain
her smiling image appears in my head
those lovely eyes saying hope is not dead

Her love is worth all the effort
and more than I can possibly give
she is all and more than I want
I need no other reason to live

For could I once again be in her embrace
stay by her side and in her heart
forever I'd honour her even after death
came to us and tore us apart

My prayers are she will follow her hearts winding trail
to me, to us and our love prevail
nothing is sadder if we'll always wonder within
on the most cruel of sentences "it might have been"

The Warrior
By: Shannon Marie Abbott
Dedicated to:
Her Mother, Leasha Marie Abbott

One night God came to me in a dream,
and there was a warrior, a soldier, standing next to him.
Though I couldn't see his face,
for it was dim.

Torn and tattered clothes.
As if the warrior had been in a war.
Fighting for what he truly loved more.

God said to me,
"The soldier was fighting for you,
and won for your love."
And through all the warfare, I could see a beautiful dove.

I looked real closely,
and couldn't realize that this was true.
Mom......
for that fighting soldier was you.

You've Been There
By: Shannon Marie Abbott

All the times you've been there,
and all the times you gave a care.
Help me through the bad,
and cried through the sad.
A friend that was there,
no matter what it was.
A good friend that I can really trust.
When we leave and go our different ways,
our friendship, in my heart, stays.
So when we go, I want you to know,
your my friend, and a good one at that.
And you can always count on me,
know matter where we're at.

Wish You Were Here
By: Shannon Marie Abbott

You were here and now you're gone,
and all that's left is your memory to carry on.
I wish you were here,
but now you're in a better place.
Oh, just what I'd give to see your smiling face.
All th wonderful times we shared,
and all the times we were together.
But when I come there with you,
those times will be forever.
So, I'm coming one day,
and I know I'll see you there.
And once again, our love we can share.

Poser
By: Shannon Marie Abbott

Why live the way you do?
You try to be other people,
but why not you?
It's all a lie, it's all fake.
Someday you'll realize,
someday you'll wake.
You should be yourself,
and be unique.
Then people will like you more,
and notice your real physique.
The world needs more people that are different and real.
Show who you are and how you really feel.
It's not cool to be someone else,
but even cooler to be yourself.
Why live your life with one big lie,
are you ashamed of the real you?
Just open up and be true.

The Child Within
By: Mary

Around the town she travels alone
Her bags in her hand, on her way home
There's a deep sadness in her eyes
Filled with the deep pain and misery of lies.
It began many years ago when she was a child
When life was simple and the animals were wild
Just like the animals, she ran free
And though she was different they just could not see.
People used to watch her simple ways
And innocence of mind, that used to fill her days
Her body grew, but her mind seemed to die
And people kept filling her head with lies.
They told her she could always depend on them
That they'd be there if and when
The day would come when her parents would die
And the childlike young woman believed every lie.
Within a few months of each other her parents were gone
She wept and she wailed and kept singing her song

The song that once her mother had taught her
Which told of love and kindness in the people around her.
Years passed by and the promises were broken
They used to see her but never a word was spoken,
She lives now in her house on the hill
And like a small child not a fly does she kill.
Her mind seems to have awoken enough to see
The part of the world with pain and misery
As she travels alone with her bags in her hand,
She longs to see again her own peaceful land.
