Aging Pilgrim
By: John

Just once,prey let me taste
The warm, sweet spice of your embrace
Like gentle waves shape friendly shores
Forsake the sea,and crest no more
I'll breath your breathe, and feel you tremble
An aging pilgrim at your temple

Illusions formed,but not declared
Time places out of reach the fair
Memory stirred by youthful visions
Cause thoughts denied,and then contrition
A glance with love,sent to a stranger
In secret yearning by the sender

I touch your beauty but with my eyes
Lest in contrasting texture,my touch despised
In emotional deserts,with decaying senses
The old have needs, the young pretences
Smooth skin with wisdom could quench my thirst
If youth and age,in life; reversed

Butterfly's Web
By Btfly

Please God
My children are grown now and I
have wonderful grandchildren.
I love them all, but please,God,
Let me remember that I have lived,
loved and enjoyed this life.
Do not let me take away from their enjoyment
by complaining about every ache and pain.
I have earned them all.
Please keep me from mentioning
my swollen joints,stiff knees,poor eyesight
and anything else that isn't as good as it once was.
Let me remember that I have enjoyed a full and wonderful life
and have been blessed in so many ways.
Now is not the time for me to begin complaning.
Please let my mouth be closed,
while my ears are open to hear the fun they are having.
Let me remember that I am still setting an example for them
and that if I keep quiet,
they will forever think that I never had a single ache or pain
in my life and that I miraculouly escaped the ills of old age.
They will, in later years, remember me with pleasure and say,
"I wish I had HER genes. She never had anything wrong with her!"
That, Dear Lord, will be the legacy I can leave them.

Butterfly Kisses
By Btfly

There's two things I know for sure.
She was sent here from heaven,
and she's daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night,
she talks to Jesus, and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life,
Butterfly Kisses after bedtime prayers.
Stickin' little white floweres all up in her hair.
"Walk beside the pony daddy, its my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny,
daddy,but I sure tried."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong,
I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every morning,
And Butterfly Kisses at night.

Sweet sixteen today,
She's looking like her momma
a little more everyday.
One part woman, the other part girl.
To prefume and makeup.
from ribbons and curls.
Trying her wings out in a great
big world, but I remember...

Butterfly Kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you daddy,
But if you don't mind,
I'm only going to kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong
I must have done something right.
To deserve her love every morning,
And Butterfly Kisses at night.

The Star
By: Kewl4ever

For a star that shines like light
Takes me on a tiring flight
Burns into my eyes so bright
Travels through the starry night
Shows me no trace of fright
Holds onto my heart so tight
And suddenly vanishes out of sight..

Unique Moments
By: Louis L. Grenier

Uplifting sounds travel my mind
Glass touches, pick-nick in the park
Sitting against a tree looking over the lake
Gazing at the sailboats standing still

Wonders of the world surround us
All of us smiles and cheers ready to burst out
Walking in our memories dreaming for futures
Everyday passing by, all the beauties of life

If something gets your attention, unexpectedly
Suddenly you can choose to go on or pause
Take a small moment to divert the course of your life
To see at your feet, the marvel of ramifications

Like the tree with its branches emerging in all directions
Yet it covers so much space, filling it so well
Look a moment at the whole ensemble
Head in new directions, enjoy the diversions and the realm of possibilities

In amazement, life intricacies are a mystery
Let our lives be beautiful trees in a park
Let our lives be part of the forest
Fragile creatures needing shelter will nest among you naturally

Give in awe, let your free-spirit guide you
Walk through time with the assurance you are meaningful

Random Hearts
By: Christina

One heart,
and another.
So many secret
and thoughts,
and hopes and dreams...
Many questions and
fanties and desires...
I know is heart is my answer.
And all the questions
will have answers.
So what's taking so long?
What question is still
left unanswered?
Is he for me?
Because what if I'm
only dreaming this?
Wishing so hard for
it to be true,
that I'm forcing
myself to believe it?
Two hearts....
One soul.

Ashes (Old Flame)
By: Christina

The ashes left after a
fire that once burned,
can always start up again.
The ashes bitter and black,
at the bottom of your heart,
can bring back that
buring flash,
that he once lit.
Before when the fire
was so great,
it burned and never flickered.
Only when he left,
and blew it out.
Left the ashes
to remember him by.
Just like a scar...
expect, it can all start agian.
One the fire is lit,
there's no turning back.
Until it burns out again.

He Takes Me
By: Ruth Staton

To lie in a field of blue iris
That's where my lover takes me
And to ride the crest of the ocean wave
As it slips o'er a silken sea

To the colorful Garden of Eden
That's where my lover takes me
In the golden glow of a candle
His very own Eve let me be

To the top of the highest mountain
That's where my lover takes me
From the shelt'ring warmth of his loving arms
What a wondrous world I can see

To the greatest realms of rapture
That's where my lover takes me
And I tremble in my pleasure
Like the wind-blown leaves of a tree

May I never be lacking my lover
He's the guide and he holds the key
To all of my fantasy's visions
He, only he, can take me
