Katie came up for a visit one nice Sunday, and we took a long walk through a very nice park nearby.  A mile and a half walk through prairie, and then woods, brought us to the Kankakee River, and some choice exploring spots.  We found large deer tracks, and what appeared to be the footy prints of a large raccoon family, near the water. 

We came to a stream that empties into the river, and followed it back into a beautiful gorge, climbing over rocks and up waterfalls, through the pebbled pools.  This is something that Kat found irresistable, and she led the way . . father trying to keep up, not fall into a pool with his camera, or lose sight of her.

                       "C'mon, Dad . . . whatch'a waiting for? . . it's eaaaaaaaasy!" . . .uh huh .. the kid is part mountain goat, I think . . Well . it was one of the nicest Sunday strolls I've had in a long time ..and a good way to spend the day with your 'lil one . . . and Kat loved it too.
