     Ok!  . . . I've stood all I can stand, and I can't stand no more!  MIDI's! . . . what the heck is the deal with all the MIDI's on websites everywhere?   Does anyone REALLY like em? . . . for heaven's sake . . WHY? . . . aside from being simply annoying, boring, and trashy, they interrupt the music I'M playing while I surf . . the only redeeming thing about the Crescendo Player is that you can turn the darn thing off! . . nothing makes me bail from a page faster than a MIDI I can't shut off.

     I was surfing pages, and to my misery, landed on a page which promptly loaded a tacky version of 'Unforgettable' (sounding like one of those boardwalk merry-go-rounds with all the sticky stuff on the seats of the animal rides) . . and to make it completely and unforgivably maddening . . there was no way to shut the stupid thing up . . in fact, when I closed the page, the Active-X control KEPT playing that moronic melody . . . I actually had to REBOOT to shut it up! . . . if I wasn't such a nice, patient, calm guy . . I'd go back to that bozo's page and lay a rant on him personally . . .

     I'm no genius web-page designer, but I followed a few simple rules when I started this site:  Rule #1.  Try To Make It Load Fast . . . in this era of short attention spans, that seems to be pretty sensible, and one way to do that is to not load the page down with a sack of animated gifs, midi files, and all of the pictures in the Encyclopedia Britannica.  I admit my site is FULL of photos  . . . and I compress 'em till they squeal, but still have a decent image quality, and yes, there's a little JavaScript used in the navigation bar, but overall, most of my pages load in 30 seconds or less.   Rule #2.  See Rule Number 1.

     Oh, . . I offended you because YOU have MIDI's on your site? . . . well, GET OVER IT!!! . . get rid of em! . . no one really likes em!! . . and no one is too impressed that you went to the Crescendo site and downloaded their player and a buncha silly files of songs no one can recognize . . . spend your time instead using your SPELLCHECKER! . . . or take some writing courses and learn how to create a coherent paragraph!   And get rid of some of those animated gifs, too . . sheesh . . there is no law stating : "Put Junk On Your Page Just 'Cause You Can" . . . get some CONTENT! . . . WRITE SOMETHING . . .

     Anyway . . . that's just my opinion . . . yours may be different, but hey . . this is MY page, and that's what counts here.
