July will be broadcast "LIVE" by RAIUNO
at 20.50 (Central Europe Time). Special

Fornaciari (Zucchero's father) dies at the
age of 72. God bless you, Giuseppe,
from every Zucchero fan.

Zucchero
takes part at the concert for the Rainforest
Foundation taking place at the Carnagie
Hall in New York. On stage with him
Sting, Elton John and several others. Zucchero
performed a special version of Verdi's Va'
Pensiero in English. This track is available
on the CD Carnival now available
in the US.

Zucchero
wins the "PIM" (Premio Italiano della Musica)
as "Best Italian Singer of the Year". This
prize, organized by the weekly magazine
Musica in collaboration with MTV and Radio
DeeJay, is a huge referendum and this year
thousand of coupons were submitted to the
organization.

Now the
success of Zucchero seems to have definetely
crossed the Italian borders. This week,
according to MusicLink, his Best Of is even
at the number one of the French charts:
a great result, considering that it's selling
strongly also in Germany, Austria, Switzerland,
Netherlands, Belgium and several others.
In the meantime Zucchero has received 5
platinum discs for the 500,000 copies sold
in Italy to date.

TV broadcasts for the first time the video
of Menta e Rosmarino, feauturing the Spanish
show girl Natàlia Estrada
and the Italian performer Mietta.
This video was released also in English
and Spanish.
