So you want to know a bit about me then? Well, what should I tell?
My internet handle is Goaty or DaGoaty because of the goatee beard I sport (although if I ever shave it off I'll probably still be Goaty).
If you see a post somewhere signed with a :o)> then it could most likely be me.
I spend my computer time on a Linux OS which everyone who can use should (not to say people need to avoid M$ Windows completely, it has its uses). Linux may be free in the money sense but you pay with the time you spend setting it up properly although the satisfaction is usually quite a payback :-)

I can be found some nights on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) in the #pcplus.test room on the irc.linux.com server.

Education wise, I studied Microbiology at Aberdeen University and graduated with my BSc (Hons.) in 1998. After a year doing nothing I went back there in 1999 and studied Soil Science (yes really!) and have graduated from that with an MSc.
