Hype Williams directed the new Hate Me Now video by Nas
feat. Puff Daddy. There has been some controversy surrounding the
video because the version that premiered on MTV's
Total Request Live on Thursday afternoon (April 15) was not the
version that was authorized (by Puff Daddy) to be shown (it included a
scene where Nas & Puffy are hanging on to crosses in a mock
crucification scene). This angered Puff Daddy and so he went over to the
Universal / Interscope offices with two other men and beat up Nas's
manager. Puff Daddy later turned himself in to police. Now MTV has
pulled the video from the air until the two record companies can agree
on which version to air.
