PAUL HUNTER TO SPEAK AT THE NEW ORLEANS MEDIA EXPERIENCE CONFERENCE
Paul Hunter is listed as a featured guest speaker at the first annual
New Orleans Media Experience conference in New Orleans from
October 26 to November 1, 2003. The first of its kind "mediafest"
will highlight the areas of film, advertising, music and videogames,
while bringing together industry leaders, artists, professionals, and
consumers. HSI Productions (the company with whom Paul Hunter is
currently represented by) is putting on the show, which will also
feature fellow HSI-directors Little X and Benny Boom as guest speakers.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE LIVE DVD RELEASE DATE
Paul Hunter recently completed a video for the new Kelis
track Milkshake, which features a surprise cameo by rapper
Nas as an ice-cream truck driver!

London DVD (on which the Paul Hunter-directed video I'm
Loving It is exclusively featured) is scheduled to be released
in North America on November 18.

JOE BUDDEN VIDEO ONLINE
Paul Hunter directed a new video for Justin Timberlake
entitled I'm Loving It. The video only appears as a
special feature on Justin Timberlake's upcoming Live In London
DVD (similar to how Eminem's Superman video only appeared on
the 8 Mile DVD). The I'm Loving It video premiered on MTV's
Total Request Live last Thursday (September 4), and features Justin
walking around New York City, following a girl through the streets of
Manhattan and into the subway and other NYC locations. On a
related note, the Justin Timberlake home DVD compilation
Justified: The Videos (scheduled for release on September 23) will include the Paul Hunter-directed
Senorita video.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS VIDEO ON NEPTUNES BONUS DVD
The Paul Hunter-directed Pharrell Williams video
Frontin' appears on a bonus DVD packaged with the new
Neptunes' CD Neptunes Presents... Clones. The disc
also includes videos by Clipse and Fam-lay.

Paul Hunter recently shot a commercial for Clarks Shoes,
which should begin airing in September/October.

(August 2, 2003) NEW MADONNA
GAP COMMERCIAL

Usually I'm pretty up-to-date with new Paul Hunter projects and
videos. However, I did not actually find out about this project
until a few days after it premiered on television. Paul Hunter
directed the brand new Gap
commercial that everyone's been talking about, the one featuring Madonna
& Missy Elliott. The commercial had its world premiere on VH-1
at 8pm this past Tuesday (July 29), where a special "director's
cut" version was aired. The commercial, entitled "A
New Groove, A New Jean" features the the two artists singing
and dancing across a Hollywood backlot, to a medley of Madonna's hits Hollywood
and Into The Groove. The 30-second commercial can be seen
its entirety at Gap.com.
The commercial campaign will run in the U.S. until August 29, and in
Canada until August 26. The campaign will then run in the UK and
Japan from August 20 until September 16.

reports that Paul Hunter and his brother Kevin Hunter have collaborated
on a video together. Last week, the brothers directed Fire
by Joe Budden featuring Busta Rhymes. The video was shot in
an abandoned house in Jersey City, NJ, and features a house party
featuring lots of gorgeous women. Kevin Hunter is an up-and-coming
music video director. He previously directed the Richard Lugo
video Boom.

BULLETPROOF MONK OUT ON DVD SEPTEMBER 9
According to online retailers such as Amazon.com,
Bulletproof Monk will be released for sale on home video &
DVD formats on September 9. The movie, which was released
theatrically on May 16, will include the anamorphic widescreen version
of the movie. Other special features include two separate audio
commentaries: one by director Paul Hunter and producers Charles Roven
and Douglas Segal, and the other by the writers; several deleted scenes,
an alternate ending, and a series of behind-the-scenes featurettes.

2003 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS NOMINATIONS
The nominations for the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards were
announced yesterday, and 2 Paul Hunter videos got nominated for 3
awards. Ashanti's Rock Wit U (Awww Baby) video was
nominated for Best R&B Video; Mya's My Love Is Like...
Wo was nominated for Best Dance Video & Best
Choreography In A Video (choreographer Travis Payne). The
awards will air live on August 28 from Radio City Music Hall in New York
City, with Chris Rock as host.

SPECIAL EFFECTS IN ASHANTI VIDEO
MTV.com reported this past Friday that Paul Hunter directed the new
Justin Timberlake video Senorita. The video was shot recently at a
club in Los Angeles, and features cameos by the track's producers,
Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo.

Seems that the video looks too good to be true. Almost every scene
of the video was digitally enhanced to create a more luscious and
vibrant look. They added new skies, colored location scenery and
refined the look of talent and props in creating the look of a tropical
paradise.

Paul Hunter directed a new video for Mya, My Love Is
Like... Wo!, which premiered this past Thursday (May 29) on MTV's
Making The Video and BET 106
& Park. The video is a performance video, with Mya
changing in and out of several different outfits as she dances &
sings to the track (great editing!). The video also includes a
solo tap dancing sequence. The video is featured on MTV.com
as part of their Spankin' New Music Week feature, and includes a quote
from Paul Hunter (taken from his treatment to the video):
"Flip it, I'm trippin', I'm movin' with Mya on this crazy journey. Like thug pimpin' stylish, I'm with her in front and behind. Her clothes whipping off in lightning speed before my eyes, just as I want to see more, it changes. Sometimes skin, sometimes nothing. All I know is, I can't stop looking. She pushes herself on and pulls herself off the camera. She fights with herself, each side of her personality..."

Paul Hunter has also directed a new
video, Frontin', for Pharrell Williams feat. Jay Z.
The video was shot May 21-22 in Miami, Florida. The video takes
places inside a stylish Miami mansion. Pharrell is having a party
with lots of people, including a lot of beautiful girls (of course),
skateboard guys, etc.. The video also includes a "celebrity
cameo"... Thanks to Abey for the information. He was
on set for the video shoot and got a chance to interview the director
for a local television station. Paul talked about his return to
directing videos and the thrill of directing Bulletproof Monk.

2003) ASHANTI & TYRESE VIDEOS PREMIERE
The two new Paul Hunter-directed videos for Ashanti & Tyrese
were recently released. Ashanti's Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)
was shot May 8-9 in Key Biscayne, Florida. The video features
Ashanti riding an elephant on the beach as well as swimming with the
creature in the water. The video-shoot has been covered by various
online media sources in the past few weeks, including a brief article
on Launch.com, article
at MTV.com, and a video
interview on the set of the video-shoot at AccessHollywood.com.

2003) TAMIA VIDEO TO PREMIERE ON BET 106 & PARK TODAY
Tamia
will appear on BET's
106 & Park tonight (6pm EST) to premiere her new video Officially
Missing You (directed by Paul Hunter). She will also
appear later tonight to host BET's 106 & Park Prime with
Tyrese. No word on whether the new Paul Hunter-directed Tyrese
video Signs of Love-Makin' will premiere today as well,
but there's a good chance that it might.

2003) TAMIA VIDEO RELEASED
The new Paul Hunter-directed Tamia video Officially
Missing You has been posted at Launch
in streaming video. The video starts with Tamia waking up in bed,
shows her changing clothes in front of the mirror, then follows her as
she goes out. Several guys check her out as she's walking down the
street, but she brushes them off (because she's "missing"
someone else). Nice, sensual video; great song. Expect the
video to premiere on BET 106 & Park in the next few days, as Tamia
is scheduled to appear on 106 & Park and 106 & Park Prime
sometime this week.
